Republicans in Danger of Losing Indiana to the Democrats

Bush carried Indiana over Al Gore and John Kerry by comfortable margins in elections 2000 and 2004 respectively but the latest poll out of Indiana suggests that a generic Democratic candidate would beat the generic Republican candidate 37% to 32%.

If Evan Bayh is selected as a Vice Presidential candidate on the Democratic ticket, the Democrats would have a 47% to 33% advantage.

It is no wonder Democrats are gaining an advantage in this state. 74% says we are headed in the wrong track, 68% disapprove of Bush's handling of the war in Iraq, and 71% disapprove of the Immigration policy. 56% say that troops should leave sooner as compared to only 38% saying they should stay longer.
